Morris Habitat ReStore is the place to shop for value and selection when purchasing new and used building materials. We have windows, doors, lumber, tile, cabinets and more!
Our inventory changes daily as we depend on the generosity of our many donors, but certain staple materials are usually on hand. You can save a considerable amount of money when you find used building materials for your home improvement project or renovation at the ReStore.
Remodeling a kitchen? You can find many sets of kitchen cabinets constructed from varying woods and in many styles. Used cabinets have been carefully removed with reuse in mind. We also have sinks and differing amounts of solid surface countertops. Bring your exact measurements with you!
If you are looking for used building materials for the bathroom, we have single sinks and vanities (both with and without countertop and sink), vanity light fixtures, and medicine cabinets. Occasionally we even have new whirlpool tubs!
The windows aisle is stacked full of windows in various different sizes, shapes and styles. Not all of these are used building materials. They are either leftover from overruns or were incorrectly sized for the intended job but are otherwise perfect. Some are new construction and some are new replacement windows. Almost all are energy efficient and have insulated glass panes. If you have an old leaky window to replace, come on in with exact measurements and check out what is in stock today.
In the doors aisle you will find exterior doors, used solid wood interior doors, and new hollow core doors on display. Some doors include framing, but many do not, so be sure of what you need and measure first, then come on in to shop.
The flooring area has many boxes of pre-finished hardwood as well as laminate flooring available. Taking up an old worn floor and replacing it with a new wood or “looks like wood” laminate flooring can add warmth and durability to any room in the house.
From boxes of mosaic to larger floor tiles, many tile sizes, colors and shapes are on display. Tile has many uses. You can change the look of your kitchen by adding a backsplash. Changing a bathroom floor from vinyl to tile can increase your home’s value.
Here you can find bathroom and kitchen sinks. From time to time we get in lengths of PVC pipe, copper pipe, and an occasional sump pump.
The hardware department carries odd lots of smaller new and used building materials such as cabinet knobs, door knobs, hinges, locks, screws, nails, and vent grilles. Small tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, plyers, paint brushes, rollers, roller holders and paint pans are among our most popular hardware items.
Full cans of paint in pint, quart, gallon and five gallon sizes can be found in the hardware/paint section. Some are base so that only tinting needs to be added for that special color. Others have already been tinted and the color can be easily identified by a color ‘dot’ on the lid. Stain is also available, though in more limited selections.
Not always in stock, but often found, are lengths of lumber such as 2x4s, single sheets of plywood, single sheets of sheetrock, varying lengths of door and window casing, floor trim, and miscellaneous pieces of molding. These pieces can be just the thing to replace missing sections or to trim out that new window you purchased!
