Donate Furniture to Charity for Bridgewater, Newark, Jefferson, Warren, Hope & Surrounding Regions

donate furniture to charity It’s better for small businesses and large corporations that are moving into larger offices or undergoing an office redesign to donate furniture to charity than to waste time and money trying to sell the used furniture for pennies on the dollar. Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a non-profit organization where your business can donate furniture and earn a federal income tax deduction.

While the tax deduction earned when businesses donate furniture to charity is certainly a benefit, our corporate donors and supporters at Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore seem to get more gratification knowing that their donations help build and rehabilitate affordable housing for hardworking families in our communities. Proceeds from the Morris ReStore have already helped build 18 homes since 2007, and over the next four years through our home preservation and homebuilding programs, we plan to serve 200 more families. Your donations of furniture, used appliances, excess inventory and other items also help people who can’t afford to buy new items. They will shop for items at our ReStore donated by local businesses that include the following and more:

  • Kitchen cabinets and vanities
  • Tile and other flooring materials
  • Sinks, countertops and molding
  • Wooden desks, credenzas, bookcases and other office furniture

Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore also helps to keep your unwanted furniture or used appliances from your break room out of landfills. By reselling items that others need and want, we have diverted 5,100 tons of donated usable items out of landfills since 2007. Used appliances, fixtures and other metal items that we can’t sell are dismantled, and the scrap metal is recycled.

Businesses can also support Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore by donating services and/or time. For example, businesses that are looking to donate furniture to charity in Bridgewater, Newark, Jefferson, Warren, Hope or the surrounding regions with personnel can help out by transporting their large items for donation to our ReStore. We also have volunteer opportunities available for groups of 4 to 12 people, which is perfect for corporate community service programs.
