Thousands of people come to the Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore every year. Some come to donate furniture, donate appliances or donate other items, while many come to take advantage of the bargain prices on the many different items we have for sale. Others come to volunteer their services to help us make profits that go toward building and rehabilitating the homes of hardworking families in the community.
People often ask us if we accept all donations. Due to merchandising and warehousing constraints, we limit donations to items in specific categories such as following:
If you plan to donate furniture or items in one of the accepted categories, it is wise to check with us before bringing them in, because only certain items within a category are accepted. For instance, you can donate appliances 6 years old and newer, but for various reasons, we cannot accept water heaters, cook tops, wall ovens, vacuum cleaners, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors.
By filling out our Donations Offer to Bring to ReStore Form, you can have items pre-approved before your donation. If you want to donate furniture or other items, the general rule is that items should be clean, 100% operational and in excellent condition. Because we don’t have resources to fix or refurbish scratched, broken or items needing repair, we can’t accept these as donations.
Without the help of residents and business owners in Randolph, Parsippany, Troy Hills, Newark, Mount Olive Township and surrounding regions who are willing to donate furniture and our awesome team of volunteers that work tirelessly to make our community better, Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore would not be able to provide the community with new homes for hardworking families.
